Alberta AINP

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is an immigration program which seeks to attract qualified immigrants to work in the province of Alberta which includes the major cities of Calgary and Edmonton.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Alberta AINP accepts applications from workers who can make a positive contribution to Alberta's economy and society.

 

The AINP chooses individuals based on certain selection criteria such as employment, language skills and adaptability. Successful candidates are presented with a work permit, and are eligible to apply for a permanent resident visa through CIC as a Provincial Nominee together with their spouse and dependent children.

 

Under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP), you may qualify under one of the following three streams:

1. ALBERTA AINP EMPLOYER DRIVEN STREAM
To qualify under this stream of the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, the applicant must have:

 

A valid job offer from an employer in Alberta and must qualify under one of the following three subcategories.

 

The Skilled Worker Category.

  • Under this category, the job offer must be in a skilled occupation; classification (NOC A, O, B).
  • The applicant must have the formal education and/or specialized training required for the position.

 

International Graduate Category.

  • Must have obtained a diploma, degree, or have completed a graduate level program from an educational institution approved by the Province of Alberta.
  • The international graduate must have obtained permanent full-time employment with an Alberta employer, and must be employed in a skilled occupation related to their field of study with that employer, for a minimum of six months before applying to the AINP.

 

Semi-Skilled Worker Category.

  • The applicant must possess the qualifications necessary for the job offer in a sector of the food, manufacturing or service industries.

 

2. ALBERTA AINP FARMER DRIVEN STREAM

  • To qualify, the applicant must have:
  • Prior management experience with an existing farm enterprise;
  • Education, training and work experience necessary to develop a sustainable farming business in Alberta;
  • A business plan for the development of the existing farm in Alberta;
  • Confirmation that a Canadian financial institution will provide financing to the proposed farming enterprise;
  • A minimum of C $500,000 of equity to invest in the farming enterprise;
  • A minimum net worth of C $500,000 or clear confirmation of access to these funds.

 

3. ALBERTA FAMILY STREAM

  • To qualify under the Family Stream, applicants must have a close family member in Alberta (defined as a mother/father, son/daughter, sister/ brother, aunt/uncle, niece/nephew) who is willing to sign a Sponsorship Affidavit of Support.
  • The Canadian Sponsor must be at least 21 years of age and be able to demonstrate financial ability to support the applicant. He/she must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • The Applicant must be between 21 and 45;
  • Be able to demonstrate strong English language abilities;
  • Have completed post-secondary education or training;
  • Be able to demonstrate work experience; and
  • Have at least CAD $10,000 and CAD $2,000 for each accompanying dependent of settlement funds to demonstrate ability to become successfully established in Alberta.
