Ontario PNPThe Ontario Pilot Provincial Nominee Program (Ontario PNP) is a provincial immigration program which seeks to attract qualified immigrants to work or invest in the province of Ontario which includes the major cities of Ottawa , and Toronto.

 

 

 

 

The Pilot PNP is employer-driven. This means that as a prospective nominee, you can only apply if your employer is pre-screened, the position is approved, and your employer provides you with a nominee application package from the Pilot PNP.

 

Successful candidates are presented with a work permit, and are eligible to apply for a permanent resident visa through CIC as a Provincial Nominee together with their spouse and dependent children.

 

Under the Ontario Pilot Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), you may qualify under one of two categories:

The Employer Category represents 90% of the Pilot PNP. Streams under the Employer Category are:

 

The Professional stream: consists of eight occupations in the health care sector. It also includes two occupations in the education sector.

*Before nominating applicants, Ontario employers must be pre-screened and obtain approval for the positions they wish to fill.

 

Companies applying to the Pilot PNP must:

  • Have been in continuous active operation, for a minimum of three years.
  • For companies located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) – Have a minimum of $1,000,000 in gross revenue for the previous fiscal year.
  • For companies located outside the GTA – Have a minimum of $500,000 in gross revenue for the previous fiscal year.
  • For companies located in the GTA – Have a minimum of five permanent full-time employees.
  • For companies located outside the GTA – Have a minimum of three permanent full-time employees.

 

Approved Jobs within the Pilot PNP must:

  • Be necessary for, the company’s core operations.
  • Be permanent, full-time positions.
  • Be among the eligible occupations included in the Pilot PNP Occupations List listed on this website. International students are not restricted to this List.
  • Meet current wage levels for the profession or skilled occupation,
  • Be offered to individuals who meet the criteria for the offered employment.

 

 

The International Student stream:

 

The applicant must be a recent graduate of a public Canadian college or university and have a job offer from an Ontario employer in a professional, managerial, or skilled trades occupation.

 

 

ONTARIO PNP MULTINATIONAL INVESTOR CATEGORY

 

The Multinational Investor Category makes it easier for companies making a major investment in the province to nominate key personnel. Employers are pre-screened and must obtain approval by the Ministry of International Trade and Investment (MITI).

 

To be eligible, companies must:

 

  • Make a qualifying investment of $10 million or more in Ontario ;
  • Create 25 net full-time permanent positions.
