Working in Canada - Temporary Workers, Cando Immigration Services: Canadian Immigration Lawyer Print E-mail

Work Temporarily In CanadaOver 90,000 foreign workers enter Canada every year. They may come to work temporarily in jobs that help Canadian employers address skill shortages, or as live-in caregivers.

If you want to work in Canada , your employer assists in determining if you are eligible, by providing you with a valid, written job offer. To apply as a Temporary Worker you must be medically sound and have a clear criminal record.

You must also provide proof that you meet the requirements for the position offered (for example, proof of certain education or work experience).

Your employer will also need to acquire a positive Labour Market Opinion from Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC ), a division of Service Canada. A labour market opinion confirms that there is a shortage of skilled labour in a certain area, and that an employer may fill the position with a temporary foreign worker.

In addition to getting a work permit, you may need a temporary resident visa. If you decide to reside permanently in Canada , you must qualify under an immigration category. We will assist you in determining which category would be most appropriate for you.

At Cando Immigration, we strive to make this process as simple as possible by providing the highest level of personalized service to meet the needs of you and your family.
