The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is an immigration program which seeks to attract qualified immigrants to work in the province of Saskatchewan which includes the cities of Regina and Saskatoon.
The Saskatchewan SINP accepts applications from workers who can make a positive contribution to Saskatchewan 's economy and society. The SINP chooses individuals based on certain selection criteria such as employment, language skills and adaptability. Successful candidates are presented with a work permit, and are eligible to apply for a permanent resident visa through CIC as a Provincial Nominee together with their spouse and dependent children. Under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), you may qualify under one of eight categories: Skilled Workers This category is for skilled workers, professionals or managers who have a full-time, permanent job offer from a Saskatchewan employer. It is divided into three sub-categories:
Skilled Workers/Professionals(NOC A,B,O), Critical Occupations SkilExisting Work Permit –this category is for those immigrants who are employed and have worked in Saskatchewan for 6 months previously for the same employer on a Temporary Work Permit
Family Members For nomination, an applicant must have a family member in Saskatchewan who is a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident and has been residing in Saskatchewan for at least one year and
Be between the ages of 18-49; Have completed at least one year of post-secondary education, training or apprenticeship and have received a diploma, certificate or degree; Have at least one year of work experience in their field of education/training; Have sufficient language capability to be employable in Saskatchewan; Have a full-time permanent job offer from an employer in Saskatchewan or, intend to find work in Saskatchewan and have adequate funds to live in the province after arrival.
Entrepreneurs
To qualify as an Entrepreneur, an applicant must:
Have a minimum personal net worth of $250,000; Make a minimum investment of $150,000 into the a new business in Saskatchewan ; Have proven experience in managing a business; Have significant funds for establishing a new business or partnership in an existing Saskatchewan business, Complete a business plan demonstrating that the business will create jobs in Saskatchewan be of significant benefit to key sectors of the Saskatchewan economy; Undertake at least one trip to Saskatchewan to meet with industry associations, regional economic development authorities, businesses, and other organizations as appropriate; Provide a full disclosure of business assets and debt; and Make a deposit of CDN $75,000 into a trust account and sign a Performance Agreement based on your Business Proposal or Relocation and Settlement Plan.
Farm Owners/Operators
This category is for individuals with proven experience in farming and substantial capital available to invest in a farming operation. To qualify as a Farmer, an applicant must:
Have a net worth of $500,000; Sign an offer to purchase a Saskatchewan farming operation, or land for a new farm; Visit Saskatchewan within the two-year period before making a signed offer to purchase; and Demonstrate that they are knowledgeable farm operators.
Health Professions This category is for internationally-trained health professionals, who have been working in Saskatchewan for at least six months on a temporary work permit. To qualify as a Farmer, an applicant must:
Hold a valid Temporary Work Permit for one of the following occupations; Have been employed by a Saskatchewan employer in one of those positions for a minimum of six months; Have completed a minimum of Grade 12 education (or equivalent); and Have enough English language ability for continued employment in Saskatchewan.
Long Haul Truck Drivers
This category allows Saskatchewan trucking firms to bring workers to the province for occupations requiring a high school diploma or on-the-job training To qualify, an applicant must:
Have a temporary job offer from a Saskatchewan trucking firm; Obtain a Canadian work permit; Have a valid trucking license on par with a Saskatchewan Class 1A drivers license; Have at least two years of trucking experience; Be able to travel to the United States , if required by the employer; and Have a reasonable command of English.
Students This category is for students who have graduated from a qualified, Saskatchewan post-secondary educational institution and worked for at least six months for a Saskatchewan employer under a CIC post-graduation work permit to apply under the SINP. To qualify as a Student, an applicant must:
Have graduated from a program of at least one academic year of full-time study in Saskatchewan and received a certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized Saskatchewan post secondary educational institution; Have worked for a Saskatchewan employer for a minimum of six months under a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) post graduation work permit; and Have a current permanent full-time job offer from their employer
