QUÉBEC-SELECTED SKILLED WORKER CATEGORY

There are two stages involved in the skilled worker immigration:

1)      Application to obtain a Certificate of Selection (Certificat de sélection du Québec): The applicant must obtain a document that indicates that the Government of Québec has accepted him/her to the province.

2)      Application for Permanent Residence: Once an applicant has been selected by the province of Québec, a separate application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) must be made to request permanent residence.

Under the Québec Skilled Worker category, it is important to show that the applicant has enough money to support himself and his/her family after arriving in Canada.

The Québec-selected skilled workers are not assessed on the six selection factors of the Federal Skilled Workers Program, instead the following factors are considered:
