The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is a provincial immigration program which seeks to attract qualified immigrants to work or invest in the province of Manitoba which includes the major city of Winnipeg.
The MPNP program chooses individuals based on certain selection criteria such as employment, language skills and adaptability. Successful candidates are presented with a work permit, and are eligible to apply for a permanent resident visa through CIC as a Provincial Nominee together with their spouse and dependent children.
As the MPNP accepts applications from workers who can make a positive contribution to Manitoba’s economy and society as permanent residents. Each category generally requires: Education and training, this should include completion of high school Work experience: demonstrated employability in Manitoba enough English or French to be employed after arrival a connection to Manitoba (for example, friends, family or current employment) settlement supports (enough money to maintain yourself and your family while you are becoming established) The ability and the adaptability to settle permanently in Manitoba
For the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), you may qualify under one of the following streams: EMPLOYER DIRECT STREAM - you must have an offer of long-term, full-time employment in Manitoba
- have a work permit issued by Citizenship and Immigration Canada
- be currently working for the same employer that offered you the job and have been working there for at least six months before applying
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT STREAM - graduation from a post secondary institution in the province of BC
- an offer of long-term, full-time employment in Manitoba following graduation
- currently working for the Manitoba employer that offered you the job and been working there for at least six months
FAMILY STREAM - a close relative in Manitoba who has signed a Manitoba Affidavit of Support (MAS)and meet our minimum requirements for age, education, work experience and language ability
STRATEGIC INITIATIVES STREAM - participated in an exploratory visit to Manitoba, confirmed by the MPNP, and had an interview with a MPNP officer, or
- were interviewed by a MPNP officer and received a letter of invitation to apply as part of a MPNP targeted overseas promotional initiative, or
- have the support of an ethnic or cultural community organization in Manitoba that will help you arrange an exploratory visit that has been pre-approved by the MPNP
GENERAL STREAM - a close relative in Manitoba who has signed an Affidavit of Support (MAS)
- two friends or distant relatives in Manitoba who have each signed an affidavit of support
- completed education in Manitoba
- previous work experience in Manitoba (six months minimum)
